I recently had the pleasure of photographing Antonia and Dan’s engagement session, which unfolded across two distinct yet equally picturesque locations: Rock Creek Park and the National Mall. The winter fog of December gave a unique atmosphere to the session.
If you are still looking for the perfect location for your engagement photos, take a look at my list of the best engagement locations in Washington DC.
Planning a session in Rock Creek Park
Rock Creek Park provided a serene backdrop for capturing genuine moments between Antonia and Dan. Antonia knew exactly where she wanted to plan their session: at their favorite bridge, the Boulder Bridge, an old stone construction built in 1902.
The fall colors mixed with a foggy morning created a calm and authentic atmosphere. The couple’s love for each other seamlessly blended with the organic surroundings, and the playful presence of their dogs added a touch of whimsy to the session, resulting in a collection of images that reflected the understated beauty of nature and the bonds shared between them and their four-legged companions.
National Mall in December
Transitioning to the National Mall, the engagement session seamlessly integrated historic landmarks like the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial. Against the soft hues of the winter morning sky, Antonia and Dan created a sophisticated and intimate ambiance that truly captured the essence of their relationship.
Ensuring a smooth experience at the National Mall involved obtaining the necessary permits from the National Park Service. Check this blog post to learn more about the photo permit requirements.
