Mari and Sam’s Wedding in Washington DC

As a DC wedding photographer, I’ve had my fair share of amazing love stories, but there’s something super special about Sam and Mari’s journey to happily ever after. I met them a couple of years back for their engagement session during the dreamy cherry blossoms – and trust me, it was as magical as it sounds. These two lovebirds fell in love with their engagement photos, and that’s when they decided to bring me on board as their wedding photographer (by the way, if you wonder how to plan an engagement session during cherry blossom, check my blog post here).

4 different locations

Sam and Mari’s wedding planning was a rollercoaster. They didn’t just pick one stunning venue; they went all out and chose a whopping four different locations. The day kicked off with Sam and Mari getting ready at separate spots, then they tied the knot at the gorgeous Dahlgren Chapel in Georgetown before partying it up at President Lincoln’s Cottage.

With so much action going on in different places, we knew we had to tweak the usual coverage plan. So, we opted for a full-blown 12-hour coverage to make sure we didn’t miss any good moments. To keep the energy levels high and the shots on point, I brought in an assistant. This extra set of hands turned out to be a game-changer in making sure I didn’t miss a beat during those transitions between venues.

When history meets modern days

When the big day finally arrived, it was off-the-charts amazing. Sam and Mari getting ready at different spots had the air buzzing with anticipation and excitement. The ceremony was a mix of old-school charm and modern-day romance. Let’s not even start on how adorable it was when they said “I do” and shared that first married kiss – you’d have to be heartless not to feel the love in the air!

After the ceremony, it was time to party at President Lincoln’s Cottage. The place was dripping with history and charm, and it was the perfect backdrop for some seriously stunning photos. The night was packed with heartfelt speeches, epic dance moves, and moments that would have anyone reaching for the tissues. As a wedding photographer, it was pure joy capturing all the genuine smiles, laughter, and emotions that filled the room.
