That's why I try to bring some fun by doing non-traditional engagement sessions so you don't have to think about me and my lenses.
I also encourage all my couples to schedule a consultation with me before their session so I can answer any questions and explain how the engagement session will work.

- A quick 45-min engagement session on one location
- 90-min to go to two different locations next to each other
- 3-hour sessions for 2 locations away from each other

If you want a non-traditional session, this is for you. A "Slice of Life" engagement session is a photography session that aims to capture authentic moments of a couple's everyday life or activities.
Instead of posing in formal settings, I photograph my couple while engaging in activities they enjoy or moments that represent their relationship in a natural and candid way.

What is the point of engagement photos?
First of all, it's a fun time of your life to capture photos, you just got engaged! It’s a great way to get “normal” and professional pictures of you, not wearing your wedding attire. It also helps you establish a relationship with me as your wedding photographer so you're comfortable with my style. If you are getting married outside of Washington DC, I would love to talk to you about flying with you to your wedding.
What is included in engagement photos?
Engagement photography refers to photographs of couples who just got engaged. We are celebrating you as a couple! We will create artful couple portraits in a location of your choosing. Engagement photos usually end as albums, large prints, or collages.
How do we choose the location for our engagement?
My engagement sessions allow for two locations and two changes of outfits. I always advise my couples to choose a location that has a special meaning to them. Does the location answer this question: who are you as a couple? If your location answers this, you found a great place to capture a meaningful session.
Should we plan an activity for our engagement photos?
I love to capture one of your favorite activities together. It can be anything, from sports activities to food activities. I think it will give more meaning to your photos because this always allows my couples to be themselves.
