As a DC Wedding photographer, I have to say that DC has plenty of wedding venues, such as historical landmarks and museums, panoramic parks, and lavish gardens, making it the perfect location for a memorable garden wedding.
In this blog post, I have curated a list of the top 14 garden wedding venues in Washington DC to help you find the perfect setting for your wedding. You can check out my list of 25+ wedding venues if you are looking for the perfect venue in Washington DC.

Tudor Place
A hidden gem in Georgetown, Tudor Place offers a serene and elegant setting for an outdoor wedding. The ceremony lawn is framed by mature trees and seasonal blooms, and the house itself adds structure without overpowering the landscape.
Rental fees typically begin around $7,000 to $9,000, depending on the day and guest count, and capacity generally sits around 120 guests with tenting. This is a strong choice for couples who want a private estate feel in the middle of the city without the scale of something like Dumbarton Oaks. I could not recommend it enough: we used this spot for our own first look back in 2018! Address: 1644 31st St NW.

The Anderson House
Located along Massachusetts Avenue, The Anderson House is an architectural masterpiece with manicured gardens, vibrant blooms, and a grand terrace. The combination of marble interiors and elegant outdoor spaces makes it incredibly versatile.
Rental fees typically start around $14,000 to $18,000, and the venue accommodates approximately 150 to 180 guests. It’s ideal for couples who love historic grandeur but still want outdoor movement and natural light. Address: 2118 Massachusetts Ave NW.
Meridian Hill Park
Meridian Hill Park (also known as Malcom X Park) is a hidden oasis near 16th Street, known for its former cascading fountains, wide lawns, and classical sculptures. The layered terraces create dramatic ceremony backdrops that feel both romantic and urban.
Because it is a public park, permits are required, and fees vary depending on setup and guest count. It works best for smaller to mid-sized ceremonies. Address: 16th St NW & W St NW.

St Francis Hall And The Franciscan Monastery Garden
Located in the Brookland neighborhood, the Franciscan Monastery Garden, attached to St Francis Hall, features stunning architecture, cloistered courtyards, and peaceful greenery. The atmosphere feels serene and almost European.
Rental pricing typically begins around $9,000 to $12,000, depending on package and guest count. Capacity generally ranges from 120 to 250 guests, depending on indoor and outdoor use. It’s a beautiful choice for couples wanting a tranquil garden ceremony with architectural depth. Address: 1400 Quincy St NE.

The U.S. National Arboretum
Spanning over 400 acres, the U.S. National Arboretum offers expansive gardens, the iconic National Capitol Columns, and seasonal collections like azaleas and magnolias. The space feels open, airy, and distinctly DC.
Permit fees generally begin around $3,000 and vary by location within the grounds. Capacity depends on the selected area but often accommodates between 100 and 200 guests. Address: 3501 New York Ave NE.

The President Lincoln’s Cottage
This is one of my favorite venues in Washington DC. I have written a full guide on President Lincoln’s Cottage that you can read here. There are many advantages to getting married there, the number one reason being that this is a wonderful green space in the middle of the city.
Rental fees typically begin around $6,000 to $9,000, depending on guest count and tenting needs, with capacity often around 150 guests. It’s a thoughtful option for couples who appreciate history and want a peaceful, meaningful atmosphere. Address: 140 Rock Creek Church Rd NW.

The Josephine Butler Parks Center
Overlooking Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park, the Josephine Butler Parks Center is a historic mansion surrounded by gardens and romantic architectural details. The pergola and waterfall create a soft, intimate ceremony setting.
Rental pricing generally ranges from $6,000 to $8,000, depending on the day. Capacity typically sits around 120 to 130 guests. Address: 2437 15th St NW.
National Cathedral School
Located on the grounds of the Washington National Cathedral, National Cathedral School is a historic institution in the heart of Washington DC and has been the site of many events for more than 30 years. One of my couples in 2026 is getting married outside, in the school garden which has a few cherry trees, and will have their reception inside their school, in the Hearst Hall.
Rental pricing typically begins around $8,000 to $12,000, depending on the spaces reserved and the time of year. Capacity can range from 150 to over 300 guests, depending on tenting and reception layout. It’s an excellent choice for couples who want classic DC architecture paired with open green space and flexibility for larger celebrations. Address: 3101 Wisconsin Ave NW.
