Spring Wedding at St. John’s Church and Old Ebbitt Grill

Meghan and Doug’s wedding day was a timeless spring celebration rooted in tradition and full of joy, with a choice of emblematic venues, including St. John’s Church and the Old Ebbitt Grill. I had the pleasure of working with Meredith from Fancy Farm Fling, an amazing wedding planner in the DMV area.

The couple started the day getting ready at the JW Marriott, just steps from the White House, with sweeping views of the city. Their first look took place on the hotel’s terrace—a quiet, emotional moment before the day unfolded.

The ceremony was held at St. John’s Church, a space deeply meaningful to the couple, as they attend services there every Sunday. It was classic, heartfelt, and filled with intention.

Afterwards, guests made their way to Old Ebbitt Grill, one of DC’s most iconic venues, where the rooftop terrace set the stage for cocktail hour. With champagne flowing and an oyster bar to welcome everyone, the view over the White House and the Washington Monument made it unforgettable.

The celebration continued in Old Ebbitt’s atrium, a stunning space that gave the evening a warm, elegant energy. The band from East Coast Entertainment kept the dance floor packed all night—the energy was electric from the first dance through the final song.

From the soft spring light to the deeply personal ceremony and vibrant reception, Meghan and Doug’s day was a perfect reflection of who they are together: graceful, joyful, and full of life.
