As a Maryland wedding photographer, I am thrilled to see that our state offers couples seeking a unique and romantic wedding experience at a variety of forest venues. If you dream of saying “I do” surrounded by breathtaking views in the middle of the woods, Maryland has just the setting for you.

In this blog post, we’ll explore some of the best forest wedding venues in Maryland that promise to make your special day truly unforgettable. To see more wedding venues in Maryland, check out my blog post Top Wedding Venues in Maryland.

Mountain Memories at Thorpewood

I did not know this wedding venue until a couple hired me to capture their wedding there. You can check Kathleen and Brendan’s wedding to see the potential of this venue. If you dream about getting married in the woods, this is it! ThorpeWood is set on 155 acres of forested land in the Catoctin Mountains. They have multiple outdoor ceremony sites, including options within the woods. Mountain Memories at Thorpewood is owned by Julie Castleman. She is the one who will guide you through the process of planning your wedding at this very unique location.

Address: 12805-A Mink Farm Road in Thurmont, Maryland. You can contact Julie by phone at 301.271.2823 or e-mail: info@thorpewood.org.

Liriodendron Mansion

The Liriodendron Mansion is surrounded by beautiful grounds featuring gardens and mature trees, creating a lovely setting for outdoor ceremonies. To witness the beauty of this location, one only needs to look at Kathryn and Matthew’s wedding there. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to enjoy much of the outdoors, as it rained all day long. However, that’s the beauty of this venue: the mansion is stunning both inside and out.

Address: 502 W Gordon Street in Bel Air, Maryland. You can contact them by phone at (410) 879-4424 or by email info@liriodendron.com.

Woodend Mansion and Sanctuary

This is another location that will surprise you. Next to DC, Jenny and Paulina found Woodend Sanctuary and Mansion in Chevy Chase by chance. It was the first venue they visited and they immediately fell in love with it. You can check out their amazing wedding and see how magical it was during the month of October. Fall is definitely THE month to book this wedding venue. This couple decided on this venue because they could plan a fabulous outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception at the same location.

Address: 8940 Jones Mill Rd in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Fill out this form to connect with their team.

Rockwood Manor

Operated by Montgomery Parks, Rockwood Manor is a historic venue with gardens and forested areas. It provides a charming and natural setting for weddings.
