It’s no secret that I love wine, so I especially get excited when clients choose to have their wedding at a winery or vineyard, above all as a DC Wedding Photographer. Virginia is one of the top 10 wine-producing states in the U.S., so there is no shortage of vineyards and wineries in the area. Today on the blog, I’m putting together a list of 7 vineyards in Northern Virginia that also serve as wedding venues!

A note on pricing: All figures below reflect 2025–2026 market data. Venue pricing changes regularly based on season, day of week, and package inclusions — always contact venues directly for current quotes.
8 Chains North
Waterford, VA | Up to 130 guests | Starting around $400–$15,000
More than just a winery, 8 Chains North is a boutique vineyard in Loudoun County that prides itself on being one of the more accessible options in Northern Virginia, with packages to fit nearly every budget, from intimate elopements to receptions of up to 130 guests.
The Compass Rose Banquet Room is rustic yet elegant, with high ceilings, chandeliers, and French doors leading out to the covered patio. Ceremonies take place directly in six acres of rolling vineyard, which is as dreamy as it sounds for golden hour portraits. If you’re looking for an authentic wine-country atmosphere without an overwhelming price tag, this one is worth a serious look.
Good to know: Wine minimum of one case per 25 guests; outside beer and spirits require a Virginia ABC one-day banquet license ($55). Military and Wine Club member discounts available.
Bluemont Vineyard
Bluemont, VA | Up to 200 guests | Venue rental from $7,850–$13,500
What’s better than exceptional wines and extraordinary views on your wedding day? Bluemont Vineyard offers some of the most sweeping panoramic views of the Loudoun Valley you’ll find anywhere in Northern Virginia. This family-owned property has real soul, the kind you feel the moment you step out of the car.
The Stable is a climate-controlled rustic barn adorned with twinkle lights, and the outdoor ceremony lawn lets you say your vows with nothing but open sky and rolling vineyard ahead of you. Packages include day-of coordination, tables, chairs, linens, and accent decor, which is genuinely great value compared to venues that charge for all of that separately.
As a photographer, I’m completely in love with the natural light here. The vines and hills give you one of the most beautiful backdrops in the region for portraits.
Good to know: Catering exclusively through Savoir Fare Limited; food and beverage minimum applies. Wine must be purchased from Bluemont per Virginia Farm Winery law; outside beer and spirits are welcome with an ABC permit.
Blue Valley Vineyard and Winery
Delaplane, VA | Up to 250 guests | Contact for pricing
If you’re looking for grand and luxurious, Blue Valley Vineyard and Winery delivers. Set against the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains on the historic John Marshall Estate, the views here are genuinely unmatched, the kind of panoramic scenery that makes your guests go quiet when they step outside.
Blue Valley offers multiple packages to fit different group sizes and visions: the Panoramic Package (100–200 guests) includes the Tasting Room, Loft, Traditions Room, Private Veranda, and Sunset Terrace; the Celebrations Package works for 60–99 guests; and the Vault Package (up to 125 guests) offers a completely different aesthetic in the barrel room and cave. Smaller gatherings can book the Memories or Sunset packages. The flexibility here is genuinely impressive.
Good to know: Multiple package tiers available for groups of 40 to 250; contact the venue directly for current pricing across packages and seasons.
Boxwood Winery
Middleburg, VA | Contact for capacity and pricing
Boxwood Winery sits on 26.5 acres of Northern Virginia countryside and sets itself apart with a genuine commitment to producing premium French-style red and white wines in the Bordeaux tradition, so the wine your guests are drinking is actually exceptional. That matters more than people realize on a wedding day.
The grounds are intimate and refined, leaning toward understated elegance rather than rustic-chic. Semi-private and private event options are available depending on your needs and budget. If you want a vineyard wedding that feels genuinely sophisticated without being stuffy, Boxwood is a strong contender.
Good to know: Capacity and pricing are quote-based. Reach out directly to discuss your specific vision and date.
Morais Vineyards and Winery
Bealeton, VA | Up to 250–300 guests | $7,000–$11,000 venue rental, depending on day
Morais Vineyards and Winery is unlike anywhere else on this list. Rooted in Portuguese winemaking heritage spanning over 100 years, this family-owned estate blends Old World Mediterranean architecture with Virginia wine country in a way that feels genuinely one-of-a-kind. Guests who’ve never been here are routinely shocked that it exists in the middle of Virginia.
The Palacio ballroom is 4,000 square feet of hardwood floors, Palladian-style windows, six champagne-leaf chandeliers, and a raised stage with Portuguese tile detailing. Ceremony options include an outdoor pondside pergola, a stained glass chapel, and the ballroom itself. The property also features a wine cellar, barrel room, a vintage greenhouse atrium, and garden courtyards that are genuinely extraordinary for portraits.
Saturday venue rental runs around $11,000; Fridays and Sundays run around $9,000; Monday–Thursday run from $7,000. Peak season is March–November, with potential savings in the winter months.
Good to know: Outside catering and planners permitted with a $1,000 fee each if not selected from Morais’ approved vendor list. Wine must be purchased from Morais; BYOB beer and spirits with an ABC license welcome.
Fleetwood Farm Winery
Leesburg, VA | Up to 200 guests | Rental from ~$10,000–$15,000+ (peak Saturday)

Fleetwood, during the fall wedding season, is colorful. By Natasha Lamalle Photography.
If you’re dreaming of a vineyard wedding with wide open views, rolling vines, and an atmosphere that feels relaxed and elevated at the same time, Fleetwood Farm Winery should absolutely be on your list. Tucked in Leesburg, about an hour from DC, it’s the kind of place that feels expansive without feeling overwhelming, and it’s one of my personal favorites to photograph.
One thing I always recommend at Fleetwood: sneak away for 10 minutes at sunset. Not a full portrait session, just a short pause together while your guests enjoy cocktail hour. You’ll come back grounded and glowing, and the images from those 10 minutes are often the ones couples treasure most.
Good to know: Peak Saturday rental starts around $10,000–$15,000+; lower rates for Fridays, Sundays, and off-season. Base rental includes tables, chairs, ceremony and reception seating, and wedding party suites. Total wedding investment for 120–150 guests typically runs $60,000–$90,000+, depending on vendor choices. Transportation from DC is worth budgeting for. Book at least a year out; dates go quickly. Breaux Vineyards
Purcellville, VA | Up to 400 guests (outdoor) / 150 seated (Acadia Room) | Starting from $5,000–$6,500 venue rental
Breaux Vineyards is one of the most-requested vineyard wedding venues in the DC area, and once you see it, you’ll understand why. Nestled between Short Hill Mountain and the Blue Ridge in western Loudoun County, the 404-acre estate has the kind of scale and beauty that makes guests feel like they’ve been transported to Tuscany.
The outdoor upper and lower terraces can accommodate up to 400 guests for a ceremony and covered reception, with sweeping views of rolling vineyards as the backdrop. For a more intimate feel, the Acadia Room holds up to 150 guests and is genuinely stunning: crystal chandeliers, a large fireplace, and panoramic windows looking out over the vines. The Lafayette Terrace (up to 50 guests) is perfect for an intimate cocktail hour or rehearsal dinner.
The team is consistently praised for being professional and warm, which means a lot on a wedding day.
Good to know: Venue rental starting at $5,000 (off-peak) to $6,500 (peak). Note this is the raw space fee and does not include catering. Contact the venue for full package details and current pricing.
Stone Tower Winery
Leesburg, VA | Up to 250 seated guests | Starting at $13,000
Stone Tower Winery on Hogback Mountain in Leesburg is the kind of place that makes people stop mid-conversation to take in the view. Nestled on 206 acres of rolling hills with sweeping views of the Bull Run Mountains, this venue has been part of the Huber family’s land for three generations — and that history and care come through in every detail.
Weddings begin with a processional through the iconic grotto doors and around the mirrored water feature. The Ballroom features stunning stone accents, modern chandeliers, and a full wall of windows looking out onto the vineyard — romantic in every season. The events team is consistently praised for being communicative and genuinely invested in making the day go smoothly.
For couples drawn to dramatic scenery and a venue with real character and history, Stone Tower belongs at the top of your list.
Good to know: Venue rental starting at $13,000; bring-your-own caterer format. Contact the venue for current package details and availability.
Finding Your Perfect Vineyard Venue
Choosing a venue is one of the most personal decisions of your entire planning process. What matters most (the views, the vibe, the guest count, the level of service, the wine) is different for every couple.
What I can tell you is that any of these eight venues will give you a beautiful setting and, from where I stand behind the camera, some genuinely extraordinary light and scenery to work with. The rest is about which one feels like you.
If you’d like to talk through any of these options or just have questions about what your wedding day photography might look like at one of them, I’d love to connect. Reach out through my contact page.
