Top 8 Vineyard Wedding Venues in Maryland

As a Maryland wedding photographer, wedding venues are one of the most important details of the day. I’m originally from Burgundy, where wine has played a significant role in my life. I have worked for wineries, and my best friend owns wineries in France. I love the art of making wine, and perhaps that’s why photographing in a vineyard feels like home to me, especially in Maryland where I now live.

I have compiled a list of my 8 favorite vineyards to shoot at in Maryland and explained why I believe they could be the right choice for you.

Linganore Winecellars

Linganore Winecellars, located in Mount Airy, provides both indoor and outdoor spaces with a 230-acre estate and 70 acres of vineyards, allowing couples to tailor their celebration to their preferences and the season. With a reputation for hosting memorable events, Linganore Winecellars often stands out for its picturesque vineyards, diverse wine selection, and experienced event staff who contribute to the success of weddings. The venue’s commitment to providing a personalized and unique experience, coupled with the option for wine tastings and exploration of the vineyards, enhances the overall appeal for couples seeking a distinctive and intimate wedding celebration. For example, they offer customized wine labels and glasses. Most couples spend between $9,000 and $12,000 for 100 guests and the venue can accommodate up to 170 people.

Black Ankle Vineyards

Also based out of Mount Airy, Black Ankle Vineyard is another great location for a wedding. Starting at $3,500 for a weekday wedding and $8,000 for a Sunday wedding, the vineyard can accommodate up to 75 people unless tented. This is perfect for an intimate wedding or if you want your wedding to have that intimate feel. Note that they don’t schedule weddings on Fridays and Saturdays. Like some other vineyards, you can’t bring outside alcohol, meaning there won’t be a beer option. However, the wine is so delicious that your guests will not miss having more alcoholic choices!

Elk Run Vineyards and Winery

Another Mount Airy vineyard, Elk Run Vineyards and Winery offers a hexagonal tent with a wooden dance floor that overlooks the vineyard and accommodates approximately 75 seated people. Count on the wine to be excellent: with thirty-seven years of experience, dense planting, controlled and sustainable crop levels, and a consistent winemaker, the winery has garnered more than 650 National and International awards.

Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard

Based in Dickerson, Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard has Sugarloaf House, a two-bedroom, two-bath cottage with a vista living room complete with fireplace and patio. A dining room and ample kitchen complement the main house’s plan. This is definitely perfect for an intimate setting.

Vineyards of Mary’s Meadow
